⫸ Cowrie shells are believed to be a direct form of communication between us and the Ocean Goddess Yemaya. As a gift from the Goddess, cowrie shells have long been a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. They are said to be able to transfer magical power and good luck to whoever they are aimed at. They make fantastic aids for intention setting, especially when it comes to creative projects or new ventures.

Cowrie Shell Hair Wrap
- To an existing dreadlock -
Feed the hair wrap back through the loop at the top, stopping when you have a new loop around 2-3cm in size. Pass your dreadlock through the loop and bring the wrap all the way to the top to your head. Pull the hair wrap the rest of the way through the loop and let it fall naturally to where your dreadlock begins to thicken. Leave in as long as you desire, our braids can be worn in the water!
- To a braid in your natural hair -
Make a small basic braid in the section of your hair where you'd like to wear your hair wrap. Seal with a band. You can do full length or just the top, 2-3cm is enough. Push the loop of the hair wrap, through the hair at the top of the braid that you just made. Now feed the hair wrap through the loop. Once it's all the way through, let it fall naturally to where your braided hair will keep it. Leave in as long as you desire, our braids can be worn in the water!
